what's up doc?

Jaong23...BACK!

It's the end of exams now and gosh does it feel good. Waking up at noontime... sleeping late at night watching pokemon, hopefully this will be a sign of great times during these holidays. It feels really long that I haven't written something on the blog.. I think it might have been around 1 year? Will try and blog more often now that I have lots of time during the holidays.

So...in the time between now and when i last started blogging... i...have...a... GIRLFRIEND!
You can stand under my umbrella-ella-ella

Hi Rachel!! She's a good kid, a bit high maintenance sometimes, but relatively a good kid. She likes sunflowers, her favourite colour is pinkish-purple, and she does not drink water (very much). Our union started on the 20th of January 2010 and still going strong hehe :) we've had our ups and downs, seesawing through our relationship but God has brought us through thick and thin, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health :O OOPS HAVE I SAID TOO MUCH?! :p yeah love my darling Rachel and will continue to love her when she makes me prawn toast and makes me happy and also when she's really silly and driving me mad. Here's to us. Cheers girl.

And...IMPACT "The Big Solution" camp is coming up! from 7th-10th july, me and the youth will be going to the city to be a difference, to impact and to get our hands dirty. basically...

Thursday 7 July
· Welcome and introduction
· Dinner
· Urban Seed City Night Walk. This will be a contemplative group walk through the Melbourne CBD, providing an opportunity to view our city streets with a fresh perspective, followed by a debrief session over supper.

Friday 8 July
· Urban Seed City Walk (full day). This will be an interactive walk around the city, addressing homelessness, addiction and community involvement. It will be a hands-on experience, including anecdotes and stories that bring urban issues alive, help break down stereotypes and promote consideration of the risks associated with alcohol and drug abuse and wider cultural issues.
· Camp chill-out session: Movie night

Saturday 9 July
· Inaugural Impact Charity Soccer Tournament! Bring friends and participate to raise funds to support homeless and disadvantaged.
· Camp evening session: Featuring the Impact Youth praise&worship team and Pastor Lloyd Hollingsworth. Ps Lloyd is a third generation Aboriginal pastor who works with marginalised and disadvantaged indigenous people. He has been involved in politics, social justice, and will give us a fresh understanding of how we can relate to the Indigenous Australians who share our land.

Sunday 10 July
· Bread of Life Church Youth Sunday service: The Impacters will be running the service from start to end, with Ps Lloyd Hollingsworth taking the stage once again with an inspirational message.

it's really shaping up to be a great camp...and dare i say, the BEST camp to date. any IMPACTers reading this, ask your friends and get them to come. i'm in the process of asking my friends myself and hopefully a good response will ensue.

it's time for dinner now. going out to dinner with some school friends and yeah, as alluded to earlier, bring on the holidays! :D

the loo invasion of melbourne

What a week it has been. The loo's have come and gone and it has been a great time having their company for the past week. It's kinda nice having some "new" faces around for a change.

Highlights of the Loo visit were:
  • AVATAR 3D!
  • Boxing day shopping
  • Kevin and Sara's first O-Bento experience
  • Hunting for magnum sandwiches
  • Settling for golden gaytime instead of magnum sandwiches
  • Frankston beach
  • Balderdash with kev, sara, and joanne until 2am
  • 'Sharing is caring' and prayer session after epic balderdashing
and last but not least, GELARE WAFFLES WITH ICE CREAM! otherwise known as mofo waffles, can be found on the cinema level at westfield doncaster. It has got an amazing texture with a creamy feel from the ice-cream and the whipped cream. To top it off, the sweet sensation of the maple syrup makes this dessert a tantalizing treat that makes you want to come back for more and truly, "don't stop til you get enough". wooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaawwwwwww!!

To the main cast of this great adventure film that has been my life the past week, Kevin and Sara Loo, thanks for taking part and playing your roles so precisely. I couldn't have asked for more and it has been a pleasure having you on the cast. To side characters such as Joanne Yu and Ian Chan, just to name a few, you have played a part in this wonderful production and hats off to your efforts! An awesome way to end 2009 with the doons. Love love love it.

and Ian Chan, hope you are feeling much better and please don't go overstuffing yourself on indomie ever again!

peace out peeps,

JASON'S BLOG HAS BEEN INVADED BY AN ALIEN

And the alien is now able to post stuff whenever it wants if it wants. Also the alien isn't a stereotypically weird creature, it's a cool one.

Writing something purely for the sake of writing something after having infiltrated Jason's blog:

Sigh, want to go to Malaysia/Asia. "It feels like we go back to Malaysia every summer," said one of my friends; so it's easy to associate the summer holidays with a holiday in Malaysia. Oh man, I didn't even grow up there, but it feels so much like home. The weather (yes I actually like hot + humid), the language (Hokkien ftw), and oh man, being able to just step outside (when staying at a hotel in Singapore/KL) and walk around the shops - like there's actually a nightlife, nothing compared to the "nightlife" of Melbourne city - and get food at anytime especially at hawker stores oh my gosh plastic bagged kolo mee!

Some siew yoke. Like?

the big five oh...and the most revealing post yet. BEWARE READERS.

It's been a rollercoaster week filled with highs and inevitably lows, and when I mean lows, I mean REALLY REALLY low. At some points this week, I felt that I had reached my breaking point. I felt helpless. I felt that there was no more gas in the tank. It's been a question of loneliness this week where sometimes, I feel like I'm just so alone with no one right by my side as I go from day-to-day activities. Sometimes, it feels like the thing that keeps me going is God's grace and his will for my life. That's when I flashbacked to this song, with incredible lyrics that comforts me, especially in the chorus, because after all, WE ARE NOT ALONE.

You're Not Alone - Saosin

It's just like him
To wander off in the evergreen park
Slowly searching
For any sign of the ones he used to love
He says he's got nothing left to live for
(He says he's got nothing left)
And this time I think you'll know

You're not alone
There's more to this I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell

She's just like him
Spoiled rotten, confused by the lies shes been fed
She's searching for no one (but herself)
Her eyes turn to green and she seems to be happy that she is here
And this time I think you'll know

You're not alone
There is more to this I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell

You're not alone
There is more to this i know
You can make it out

(There is more to know)

We're not alone
There is more to this i know
You can make it out
You will live to tell

(So tell them)

You're not alone
There is more to this i know
You can make it out
You will live to tell

You're not alone
There is more to this i know
You can make it out
You will live to tell

You're not alone
You're not, you're not alone

THERE IS MORE TO THIS THAT I ABSOLUTELY UNDENIABLY KNOW. And it's gonna be a heck of a journey figuring it out. I can only carry on this journey with loved ones whom I know will catch me whenever I stumble and fall but at the same time, it's important to KNOW YOUR BOUNDARIES.

"Sometimes it's hard to see the lines we've drawn, until we cross them. That's when we rely on the ones we love to pull us back, and give us something to hold on to. Then there are the clearly marked lines, the ones if you dare cross, you may never find your way back. xoxo" - Gossipgirl
